We have a near final version of the different elements in the game. There are a total of 7 elements in Destined Legends, each with unique strategic advantages and disadvantages for you to explore. Check out the image above to get an idea of what we’re planning for the different elements. Below is the official “Object of the Game” description that will help place the above in some better context. For those of you that have been waiting for the following information, thanks for all of your support and patience.
Before that I wanna let you guys and gals know that at this point we are trying to ramp up awareness for the game. You retweets and reblogs will go a long way in helping others find our project. So thanks in advance. Our excitement is growing pretty rapidly and we’d love to share this process with as many people as possible.
Without further adieu, the Object of the Game:
Destined Legends is a trading card game where each player will utilize a deck of 70 cards. The game begins with each player controlling a party of 3 heroes, (referred to as Legends.) The object of the game is to defeat your opponent’s party of Legends with your own party by reducing their HP (Hit Points) to 0. You do this by attacking with equipped weapon cards that provide you with various abilities. You can build up your Legends with a collection of armor and accessory cards you draw throughout the game. You can also level up your party by fighting creature and boss cards, enabling you to use more advanced equipment and ultimately gain the upper hand against your opponent.
That’s just a small taste of what the game will be about. Leave us a comment below and follow us on Twitter to receive future updates.

We’re currently in out first round of testing and I can say with some relief that the game is playable. Its one thing to spend months developing spreadsheets of all of the cards, but theres no way of really telling how the game is going to play or behave. So I printed them out super-cheap at fedEx and cut them all out home-brew style. It was quite the feeling to be holding a deck of our cards in my hand. We setup the game back at home and sat down to play.

Our initial findings was a problem with the probability of drawing playable cards at the start of the game. We rigged the game to get past that initial hurdle and actually test the mechanics. I have to say that the game is actually really fun. When you’re in the thick of the battle, things get pretty intense. I was also glad to see our implemented elements of strategy in use already.

Soon we will be revealing more about the mechanics of the game, but for now, you get to put a face to this up-until-now-supposed game. In the images above is a rough draft example of a type of card in the game called “Legend Cards”. The “Legends” are essentially your party members. The word “Legend” is used because of its implications into the Lore of the game, which will be revealed in due time. I’ve broken down the card so you can get an inital understading of our card layout and core design. The grey cards are what we’re using right now for playtesting. There are 5 other types of cards in the game which, once revealed will make the card above make more sense.

Keeping in mind that the cards above are all rough drafts, What do you guys think of the design and layout concept?

We’re still in the thick of the initial development phase for the game. Things have been going very well. We just finished writing the 140 cards that will be making up the first two decks and will be moving on to card assembly this week. I’m trying to fast-track this first draft of cards cus I’m so curious to see how the game plays in real life. Up until now, it only exists in our heads.
I’m also working on a draft of the rule book. I think I’ll at least post the “parts of a card” so you guys can get a glimpse of what the cards will look like. So look for that soon.
In the mean time, check out our runner up for the back of the cards, which features the newest version of our logo. I think this is pretty close to what we want the final to be. What do you think?
