Rob the Bot on Holiday Break
So priorities are a funny thing. I’ve been thinking about this for the past couple weeks, and unfortunately I can only find more and more reasons to go through with it. As difficult of a decision this was, starting the date of this post, Rob the Bot is going on hiatus, and will resume in February.
Think of it as a holiday break. In reality, too many things are piling up in my life at the moment. First off, I have my full-time job at Apple. And with the holidays coming up, it’s only going to take up even more of my time. Second is my website design business. I was just brought on-board for a very exciting video-related web startup as lead branding and website designer. It’s a big project that will continue into the new year. Third is my actual career goal, film. I have two scripts and a novel which I have begun to write, but haven’t been able to dedicate any legitimate time to. It’s something that is very important to me and my career development. Plus there are always other little projects here and there I’m getting myself involved with.
Rob the Bot and all of my webcomic endeavors have always been a side business to me. I don’t carry the same passion for it as I do for everything I mentioned above. It is also a side business that I have been doing for the better part of 4 years with no true gain. This is not to say I don’t love doing Rob the Bot. It just has gotten to a point where I have to rank my priorities and set the lower end of the list on the back burner for now. The next few months will give me time to reincorporate Rob the Bot into my routine more efficiently. (Not stoked to return home at midnight after a 9-hour shift, super-tired, only to realize that I still have a comic to start.) And since My full-time job is the breadwinner, the comic is pretty much at its mercy.
I still thoroughly enjoy Rob the Bot and have many awesome ideas to explore with it. I hope to see you guys back here in 2011. As the above might entail, I won’t be sitting on my butt all day long. I’ll be keeping you guys up to date with everything else I’m doing right here, on my tumblr.
